No guessing. No unnecessary jargon. No pressure.
What to Expect
Tell us what's happening. We'll take a look at the system, figure out what's going on, explain it to you, and we'll determine the right way forward together.
From the first message to after the repair
- 1. Request service
- Use the request form, call (646) 657-5775, or text us. Tell us what the system is doing.
- 2. What to include
- Your name, the service address, the equipment type and brand if you know it, whether the system is running at all, and a short description.
- 3. Photos help
- Photos of the equipment, its model/serial label, the thermostat wiring and any error code help us identify the equipment, its approximate age and configuration, whether parts may be needed — and arrive prepared.
- 4. The technician arrives
- You meet the technician who will diagnose and service your system — not a salesperson.
- 5. Diagnosis
- We inspect the actual equipment and determine what is causing the problem, and whether anything else contributed to it.
- 6. Recommendations
- We explain what we found in plain English and present the recommended repair and its price before authorized work begins.
- 7. If parts are needed
- Many repairs can be completed on the first visit. Some equipment requires special-order parts, which affects timing; we will tell you what to expect.
- 8. Payment
- Payment terms are confirmed when you schedule and before any work proceeds. No surprises on the invoice.
- 9. After the repair
- We test the system, explain what was done, and recommend appropriate maintenance. We keep a record of your equipment and the work for future service.
Professional service evaluation
What a service evaluation is
A professional service evaluation is not free phone advice and it isn't someone simply “looking at it.” You're paying for the technician's time, knowledge and evaluation of your actual system — the investigation that determines what is wrong and what it will take to restore proper operation.
The evaluation charge is explained when you schedule, before anyone arrives.
Peace of mind
Workmanship warranty
Workmanship warranty — terms in writing. Air Mechanical stands behind the work we perform. The applicable workmanship warranty is explained clearly, in writing, before the job — not hidden in fine print. If there's a workmanship issue, you know exactly who to call.
What it covers: the workmanship of the specific work Air Mechanical performed. What it doesn't cover: unrelated components or failures, pre-existing installation problems we didn't correct, damage from misuse or outside causes, and work performed by others.
Manufacturer warranties are different. Equipment and parts warranties come from the manufacturer and follow the manufacturer's terms and registration requirements. Our workmanship warranty is separate.
Honest limits
Things we’d rather tell you up front
- Manufacturer warranty is different from workmanship warranty.
- Parts availability can affect repair timing.
- Some equipment requires special-order components.
- Existing installation problems may require additional correction.
- Some failures cannot be accurately diagnosed without an on-site evaluation.
Urgent problems
Outside normal scheduling hours
For an urgent heating, cooling or equipment failure outside normal scheduling hours, call (646) 657-5775. We'll tell you honestly what availability looks like. If you smell gas, leave the building and call your gas utility or 911 from outside.
Your system. Your decision.
No pressure
We provide our professional assessment and explain the available options. You decide how to proceed. An evaluation does not commit you to a major repair or installation.
Plain English
You don't need to become an HVAC technician. You need to know what's wrong, what can be done, what it will take and what happens next.
Long-term relationship
Our goal is to be the company you call for heating, AC, boilers, maintenance, controls, upgrades and eventually replacement.
