Nest Pro since 2014
Nest Thermostat Service From an HVAC Professional
Nest is the thermostat. Your HVAC system is the machine. We understand both.
Send a photo of your thermostat wiring and your heating/cooling equipment — it often tells us a lot before we arrive.

A thermostat problem can actually be an HVAC problem
We investigate the complete system — not just the thermostat
Air Mechanical has been a Google Nest Pro since 2014 and has installed, configured and troubleshot Nest thermostats on a very wide range of systems — boilers, furnaces, heat pumps, zoned systems, oil systems and combinations of all of them.
When a Nest isn't communicating correctly with the heating or cooling system, replacing the thermostat rarely fixes it. The cause is usually wiring, power, the equipment's control board, a zone controller, or a configuration that doesn't match the system. Because we're HVAC technicians first, we diagnose all of it.
Nest problems we solve
Common Nest thermostat problems
- Nest thermostat not working
- Blank screen, unresponsive, or not controlling the system.
- Nest says no power / won’t turn on
- Missing or unreliable 24V power, C-wire issues, tripped safety switches or transformer problems.
- Nest not heating
- Wrong terminal, heat-type configuration, boiler or zone control not responding.
- Nest not cooling
- Cooling wire, outdoor unit, or a heat pump configured as conventional cooling.
- Nest blowing cold air
- Heat pump O/B configuration, fan settings or equipment not firing.
- Nest wiring & C-wire problems
- Power stealing, missing common wire, shared transformers on zoned systems.
- Nest compatibility
- High-voltage systems, multi-stage, dual-fuel and proprietary communicating equipment.
- Nest boiler setup
- Zone valves, relays, combi boilers and indirect hot water.
- Nest heat pump setup
- Reversing valve, auxiliary and emergency heat, staging.
- Nest says delayed / keeps restarting
- Usually a power or wiring issue at the system, not a thermostat defect.
If the Nest is right and the system is wrong, a new Nest won’t help.

Questions
Common questions
Is Air Mechanical a Nest-only company?
No. We are an independent HVAC/R company. Nest is a specialized expertise — the heating and cooling systems behind the thermostat are our core work.
Can you install a Nest on a boiler?
Usually, yes. Boilers with zone valves, relays or combi controls each need the right wiring and configuration. We evaluate the system first.
My Nest says no power. Is the thermostat broken?
Often it is not. Power problems usually come from the wiring, the transformer, a tripped safety switch or the equipment control board. That is a system diagnosis.
