One system, two seasons, a lot of configuration
Heat pumps reverse the refrigerant cycle to heat in winter and cool in summer. They depend on correct refrigerant charge, airflow, defrost operation and — very often — correct thermostat configuration. A heat pump wired or configured like a furnace will run, but it won't run right.
We service Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin, Fujitsu, Carrier, Trane, Lennox, Bosch, Rheem, Goodman, LG, Samsung and other heat pump manufacturers.
Common heat pump problems
- Not heating
- Defrost problems, refrigerant issues, reversing valve, controls or aux heat.
- Not cooling
- Airflow, refrigerant charge, outdoor unit or thermostat configuration.
- Blowing cold air in winter
- Defrost cycles, mode settings or a system that is undersized.
- Iced outdoor unit
- Some frost is normal; heavy ice that doesn’t clear is not.
