Why Is My Thermostat Blank?
The thermostat screen is completely blank.
What could cause this?
- Dead batteries (on battery models)
- Loss of power from the equipment
- Tripped condensate or safety switch
- Blown low-voltage fuse
- Failed thermostat
What you can safely check
- Replace thermostat batteries if it uses them
- Make sure the HVAC equipment service switch is on
- Check for water in the AC drain pan
Don't open electrical panels or equipment cabinets, handle refrigerant, work on gas or combustion components, or bypass safety controls.
When it requires a professional
If the thermostat still doesn’t power on, request service.
How Air Mechanical diagnoses it
We check the low-voltage circuit and safeties at the equipment to find what is cutting power.
Every diagnosis starts with the system as it actually exists — equipment, controls, wiring and installation. The equipment has a brand. The problem has a solution.
